The top floor of the Empire State Building stands at a height of 380 meters, and including the tower and antenna, the building is a total of 443 meters (1,454 feet) tall. It is currently the 43rd tallest building in the world and the 4th tallest in New York City. 

To reach the observatory on the 102nd floor, visitors must climb 1,872 steps. However, the building also has 73 Otis elevators, so you can easily reach the top and enjoy the view without having to climb. 

Each year, the Empire State Building hosts the annual run-up, a famous tower race where participants climb to the top on foot.

Of the five tallest skyscrapers in New York City, the Empire State Building is the oldest, having begun construction in 1930 and completed in 1931 after just 13 months (410 days). 

According to Cornell University researchers, the Empire State Building is the most photographed in the world, as determined by analyzing millions of photographs. 

The building attracts over 4 million visitors each year from all around the world. The Empire State Building’s aerials are struck by lightning an average of 25 times per year, providing great photo opportunities.
